Setting Up Your Payout Account.

Setting Up Your Payout Account

Before you can start accepting bookings on Anixiv, you need to set up a payout account through Stripe. Stripe is the payment platform we use to securely process all transactions. It is the same system used by companies like Lyft, DoorDash, and Instacart.

The setup takes about 5 minutes. Here is exactly what you will be asked for and why.

Before you start, have these ready:

Your phone (for a verification code), your legal name and date of birth (as shown on your government ID), the last 4 digits of your Social Security number, your bank routing and account numbers, and your Anixiv booking link (you will use this as your website).

Step 1: Enter your email and phone number

The first screen asks for your email address and phone number. Your email will be pre-filled from your Anixiv account. Enter your mobile phone number so Stripe can send you a verification code.

Why: Stripe needs a way to contact you about your account and verify your identity.

Step 2: Verify your phone

Stripe sends a 6-digit code to your phone via text. Enter it on the next screen. If you did not receive it, tap "Resend code."

Why: Two-factor authentication protects your earnings. If someone tries to access your payout settings, they would need your phone.

Step 3: Verify your personal details

This is the longest step. Stripe asks for your legal first and last name (as it appears on your government ID or tax records), your email address, date of birth, home address (street, city, state, zip), phone number, and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number.

Why: Federal law requires any platform that pays you to verify your identity. This is called KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance. It is the same process you would go through with Uber, Lyft, Etsy, or any gig platform. Your information is encrypted and stored by Stripe. Anixiv never sees or stores your SSN.

Tip: Use your legal name exactly as it appears on your government-issued ID. Nicknames or name changes that have not been updated with the SSA can cause verification delays.

Step 4: Business details

Stripe asks for your industry and your website.

For industry, select "Salons or barbers" from the dropdown.

For website, enter your Anixiv booking link: anixiv.com/yourname (replace "yourname" with your actual Anixiv slug). This is your public profile on the platform and it shows Stripe that you are a legitimate service provider.

If you do not have your Anixiv slug yet, you can click "Don't have a website? Add product description instead" and write a brief description of your services.

Why: Stripe uses this to verify that you are running a legitimate business. Your Anixiv booking link is the perfect answer here since it shows your profile, services, and reviews.

Step 5: Connect your bank account

Stripe asks where to send your earnings. You will either search for your bank and connect through their secure login, or enter your routing and account numbers manually.

If you connect through your bank login (the recommended option), Stripe uses a service called Plaid to securely link your account. You will see a modal that says "Anixiv uses Stripe to connect your accounts" with options to agree and continue or manually verify instead.

Why: This is where your money goes. You can change your bank account anytime from your Anixiv Payments page.

Tip: If you prefer instant payouts (funds in minutes instead of next business day), you can add a Visa or Mastercard debit card later from your Payments page. Instant payouts have a 2% processing fee.

Step 6: Review and submit

The final screen shows a summary of everything you entered: business type (individual or sole proprietorship), your name, email, date of birth, address, industry, website, and payout details. Review each section and click "Edit" if anything needs to be corrected.

You will also see a "Statement descriptor" that says "ANIXIV.COM." This is what appears on your clients' bank statements when they pay through the platform.

Once everything looks good, click "Agree and submit."

After you submit

Verification is usually instant. You will be redirected back to Anixiv and your Payments page will show a green "Stripe connected. You are ready to get paid." banner with your account status showing "Connected" and payouts "Enabled."

From here you can choose your payout schedule (next business day for free, or instant for a 2% fee), update your bank account, or view your payout history.
